Great British September Clean

NORK RESIDENTS’ Association is supporting the Keep Britain Tidy Group’s Great British September Clean, which is the postponed version of the Great British Spring Clean, which had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Our event will start at 10am on Sunday 13 September, 2020.

Once again, we will be starting from the bus shelter at the corner of Warren Road and Fir Tree Road where special purple rubbish bags and litter pickers will be available. Our target areas are the Reigate Road, from the College Road roundabout, under the railway bridge to the junction with Fir Tree Road, The Drift Bridge shopping parade, then up both sides of Fir Tree Road Banstead, including the bridle path to Banstead Station, as far as the Brighton Road. Main deposit point for filled sacks is the back of the car park at Banstead Station.

Due to continuing Covid-19 restrictions, we will need to work individually or in groups of not more than six people. For the same reason, Tidy Britain Group is unable to invite outsiders to join us, and all registered clean-ups (including ours) are being listed as private events, but we can advertise it ourselves. We will be reporting to Tidy Britain the volume and weight of what we have collected. Therefore, should you take any collected rubbish home with you for disposal, as some people kindly did last year, please do report back what you collected.
