Tattenhams Library Needs Your Support

Groups
Following the Council’s decision to close certain local libraries in order to cut costs, a Steering Committee was formed and following various meetings and discussions with Surrey Library Authority, Tattenhams Library has become a community run library.
The Surrey County Council (SCC) provides the building, the books, the computers and free wi-fi access.  This represents everything the library needs except the staffing costs.  All volunteers are fully trained by SCC in operating the library including the self-service system.  However, it is up to the volunteer group on how they organise the general day to day activities that are held at the library and how to run fund-raising activities for the future benefit of the library.
Rather than see the local library close, we are going to give it our best shot at keeping the library open for the benefit of the local community. We need enthusiastic volunteers and would be delighted to welcome anyone who cares to join us, and it will be entirely up to you how much or how little time you wish to give.  Basically, the more volunteers we have, the longer we will be able to open each week.  We have some exciting plans for the future and hope you will be able to join us to put these plans into action.
We sincerely hope you are interested in becoming a volunteer, however little time you think you can spare. To this end please complete and submit the form on this page. Thank you.
